Official opening of th new garden at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford
A new garden at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford was officially opened on September 9th, providing a small ‘oasis’ for patients and staff at the Women’s Centre, home of maternity and newborn services. The space has been transformed, with new planting and seating, turning a once-disused piece of land into a pleasant and calming environment for patients and staff.

Ben Gregoriou ran the Great North Run 2025 for Silver Star raising over £800. Thank you, Ben!
Hollie Benson and her wonderful team have won the BBC Make a Difference Fundraiser Award 2025. They have raised over £28,000 for Silver Star by running a market stall in Bicester every Friday
Kelly Charlett, her dad, Derek Adams and Julie Plested organised a charity darts event. They raised over £700 for Silver Star
The staff from Blenheim Palace recently hosted a fundraising dinner for Silver Star raising a fantastic £6,825.
Irene Hutchinson from Tackley near Oxford has been knitting cardigans for Silver Star for many, many years.
Thanks to the staff of Blenheim Palace for choosing the Silver Star Maternity Fund as their charity of the year.

Thank you, Peter we are so grateful, and impressed by your achievement in completing this mammoth challenge.
This wonderful group of people have supported Silver Star over the last 2 years. So far, they have raised £14,800 - we are so grateful to them all.
The recent donations of nearly £5000 from the Stowaway Festival & the Silverstone Woodlands events have been used to upgrade the Level 5 staff room
Rob & Rachel Wilcock have raised £5500, in memory of their daughter Zoe, to buy a CTG machine for the Silver Star Unit. They have had events throughout 2021 to raise money, and have asked others to join in with their own events to raise money too.

NEWS
Silver Star Maternity Fund funded a new scanner at a cost of £65,000 to allow more intensive and bespoke ultrasound surveillance of high-risk pregnancies, particularly those with maternal disease.
Silver Star supported the Isis community midwives based in Florence Park, East Oxford with a new kettle, milk frother & storage units.
Silver Star paid for the artwork which has installed in the corridor and two patient rooms to give a brighter, more comfortable environment.
