Here is Harvey!

Here is Harvey! : son of Martin McGlown & Emmi Kettley. The family generously asked for donations instead of gifts at Harvey's Baptism and have so far raised a stunning £640 towards Silver Star's latest Appeal.

This is a great way to raise funds for Silver Star. Emmi and Martin say they got the idea from seeing other families' contributions listed in our newsletters.

Oliver Sparks

Oliver's parents, Heather & John Sparks also kindly asked for donations instead of Christening presents for their son Oliver, born on February 1st 2005. They wrote a lovely letter to us saying how professional, caring and compassionate the Silver Star Team was.

Thank you to both families for their generosity. If you would like to celebrate the arrival of your little one in this way, be assured that all your donations help to give our mothers and babies a helping hand at the start of life.

Hollie May Lester

Hollie May Lester was born safe in the care of Professor Redman and his Team, after his mother developed Obstetric Choleostasis early on in the pregnancy. She was induced a few weeks early and is now a very happy, healthy busy little girl.

Tragically though, Hollie's aunt, Katie, died suddenly in a road accident whilst on holiday in Portugal, at the young age of 28. Despite devastation and shock, the family decided to ask for donations to Silver Star at Katie's funeral. Katie's popularity spoke volumes as £1,025 was raised.
Hollie's family say,”We are certain that Katie would have loved this donation to be given, as Hollie was Katie's first niece and the apple of her eye. She would want other babies to have the secure start in life that Hollie thankfully has.”

A very special gift in memory of a special person. Thank you for thinking of us despite your terrible grief and sadness at Katie's death.

Special Mothers

Special Mothers have Special needs

Come and join us for coffee and a chat!

Sometimes it can be difficult for mothers returning home from having their Silver Star baby. Mothers, lucky enough to have a trouble free pregnancy and birth, who may have delivered at their local hospital, or even at home, have no idea at all what a typical Silver Star mother may have been through in order to get her baby home.
